FIRESTOP PUTTY

Product Description
| Firestop Putty is a foaming sealant with a graphite base. Exposed to fire the material expands from a temperature of 140°C and forms a solid heat-insulating carbon foam. So that further spread of fire and smoke is prevented. Firestop Putty is solvent-free an does not contain any halogenated compounds, which can cause corrosive or toxic gases in case of fire. |

Possible Applications
Firestop Putty is very suitable for the following applications:
- Sealing of pipe and cable ducting, expansion joints, fire-resistant doors, - windows and - glazing
- Sealing of joints between walls and ceilings, and/or floors
- Sealing of holes, cracks, gaps, cavities and joints in repair work

No specific safety regulations and not classified as dangerous goods.
Application and Adhesion

The application surface should be clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Firestop Putty must be injected directly into the joints and cavities with a hand-or blow-gun and then smoothed with a wooden jointing tool of spatula. The smooting is made easier if the tool is moistered with water. We recommend in all cases to wear protective covering when using Firestop Putty. For outdoor use, it is imperative to use a protective covering against outdoor weathering exposure. In this case the Firestop Putty must be injected correspondingly deeper. The joint width must not be less than 5mm. |
- Curing: Firestop Putty curse by way of evaporation of the water content of the sealant.
- Cleaning: Freshly applied sealant can be simply removed with a damp cloth.

Firestop Putty is available in an user-friendly canister of 310 ml in the colour black.
